UISD investiga Falsa Amenaza en la preparatoria Alexander

LAREDO, Texas – El Distrito Escolar de United se encuentra investigando una amenaza recibida a una de sus escuelas preparatorias.

El domingo 17 de septiembre, el distrito recibió información sobre una posible amenaza en la preparatoria Alexander, sin embargo, el Departamento de Policía de UISD realizo una inspección en la casa del estudiante y se determino que la amenaza era falsa.

Aunque la amenaza era falsa, el distrito informo a los padres de familia, estudiantes y reforzo la seguridad y la presencia policial.

El distrito dijo que se toma muy en serio el bienestar de sus estudiantes y personal y que está tomando todas las precauciones para garantizar la seguridad de sus escuelas.

A continuación, se muestra el comunicado (en inglés) que se envió a los padres:

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, a report was received of a possible threat at John B. Alexander High School. The UISD Police Department conducted a Threat Assessment at the student’s residence and it was determined that there was No Credible Threat. Although no credibility to this threat has been found, we wanted to make you aware of the situation. As a precaution, there are extra police on duty at the campus and backpacks were checked.

United ISD takes the wellbeing of our students and staff very seriously, and is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of everyone at our schools. The UISD Police Department and John B. Alexander Administration will continue to investigate this matter and monitor the situation. Making a threat on a public school can have serious legal and financial consequences for the perpetrator. Appropriate legal action will be taken as warranted.

We are asking all parents to talk to your children about safety. If you see or hear any possible threats, please report them immediately to District authorities or police. Also talk to your students about the consequences of school pranks. These pranks cause a major disruption to our school day, cause undue anxiety to our students and parents, and make the school administrators move resources around. If a student is caught making a prank call, post, or email, we will pursue that action to the fullest extent of the law. Please help your student understand the seriousness and consequences of these actions.

Vale la pena señalar que este incidente se suma a recientes amenazas falsas realizadas al mismo distrito.

Por ejemplo, en la escuela secundaria Raúl Perales, secundaria United South y la amenaza de bomba emitida el pasado 28 de agosto a escuelas del sur de Texas.

Incidentes similares ocurrieron a principios de mayo y durante las clases de verano y por fortuna todas han resultado falsas.
