Jamie Bittner

Jamie Bittner joined the Gray Television Washington News Bureau in December 2021.

She is a graduate of Penn State University where her studies focused on journalism, history, and political science.

Bittner is a two-time Edward R. Murrow and Emmy winner for her investigative and documentary coverage.

She has worked in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Washington, D.C. at stations that include WTAE-TV, WLWT-TV, WPMT-TV.

As a former Pennsylvania Capitol reporter, Bittner covered high profile stories such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccine rollout, elections, unemployment, and housing. Her award-winning coverage on the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana nationwide led to a case in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court over the rights of people on probation. Bittner has covered national crime stories such as the Pulse nightclub shooting. She also worked as a newsroom manager in Pittsburgh, PA during the Tree of Life synagogue shooting. Her documentary work has featured the state of local police departments and movements for equal rights and reform.

Bittner is overjoyed to be back on Capitol Hill as part of the Gray TV family to bring vital coverage to communities who deserve answers from their elected officials. When she is not tracking down leaders and witnessing democracy in action, you can find her volunteering at animal shelters, watching football, and spending time with her family and rescue pets.
